Our Salt Therapy Application and Research Center Director, Dr. Lecturer Tekin Sancar, was the live guest of the program “Sounds, Faces, Colors from Anatolia” on TRT Radio 1.
In the program, Dr. Lecturer Sancar, who talked about Tuzluca Salt Therapy Center, which was brought to health tourism under the leadership of our University, said, “As a result of the Salt Therapy Center Project, which was initiated by our University with the initiatives of Iğdır Governorship and Tuzluca District Governorship until 2018, two galleries were opened at a depth of 160-170 meters in Salt Mountain. Our Salt Therapy Center successfully completed the feasibility study in 2019 under the leadership of our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Hakkı Alma. In fact, the final acceptance of the first phase of the implementation project was also realized in 2022. Our center serves visitors with 12 thousand square meters of indoor area and 10 thousand square meters of outdoor area. We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the construction phase, especially our Governor, Rector and Tuzluca District Governor.”
Noting that the Salt Therapy Center has become an important treatment center for respiratory and skin diseases such as asthma, COPD and allergic rhinitis and bronchitis, Sancar said, “We have nearly 4 million COPD patients in our country. I am waiting for all our patients and visitors to the Salt Therapy Center in your presence.”
Reminding that Iğdır has a strategic location that borders 3 countries, Sancar said, “We host many visitors from abroad, especially from our neighboring countries, in our Salt Therapy Center. This situation also constitutes an important source of economic income for Iğdır.”
