Iğdır University Salt Therapy Center Strengthens Scientific Collaboration with the International Salt Research Institute
Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel and Salt Therapy Application and Research Center Director Dr. Lecturer Erhan Öztürk attended the "III. International Salt Mountain Research Congress" hosted by Nakhchivan State University and organized in cooperation with Iğdır University.
At the congress, scientific sessions addressed the geological, ecological, and health tourism opportunities offered by Salt Mountain. The program, which featured international scientists, evaluated the impact of salt mines on respiratory diseases, alternative treatment methods, and their contributions to regional development.
Rector Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gürel reminded that the decision to establish the "International Salt Research Institute" was made as a result of discussions held with Nakhchivan State University and Çankırı Karatekin University, emphasizing that this institute will bring together scientific research on Salt Mountain and similar natural formations under one roof.
Iğdır University's Salt Therapy Application and Research Center, which stands out with its projects contributing to health tourism, aims to strengthen scientific ties between Türkiye and Azerbaijan and contribute to a common future through this institute.
